Ella’s Blush Dresser is finally done! I explained the bleed-through issues and process HERE and today I worked on the finishing touches. It was sanded back in places to highlight its detail and a whitewash of Annie Sloan Old White was added to the body (not the drawers). I then sealed the Whitewashed Top in General Finishes Wipe-On Urethane and sealed the paint finish in Annie Sloan clear wax. This really deepened and brought out the paint colors. White ceramic flower inspired drawer pulls were added and set this feminine piece off beautifully. The whitewashed top and painted body give off a blush hue that is so lovely.

Hi Suzanne!
I LOVE everything you do! I wish I lived closer so I could take lessons from you!
I was wondering what you do to the inside of your pieces. If a piece has drawers or cabinets….. Do you paint the inside? Do you have a technique for getting the musty or “free” smell out? Haha…. my gramma used to use cloves in her antiques. I was just curious if you painted the inside of the drawers in your daughters dresser. Keep up the beautiful work you’re an inspiration to me! Thanks! Ronda
Hi Ronda – thanks so much! I only paint the inside of the drawers if they really smell bad or are beyond cleaning to make them fresh. However, I do line the drawers with paper and found Home Depot now sells great liner paper. Or, you can find it at HomeGoods, etc. (basic shelf lining paper). It gives the drawers a clean, new look! For cabinets, I typically do paint the interior to add a pop of color. I hope this helps!
It is enchanting – love the new pulls, gives a totally different look – I am amazed at how beautifully it turned out. Can’t wait to see it
Love the dresser!!
Thanks, Liz!
The dresser turned out so lovely. The knobs give it such a feminine touch.
Gorgeous!
Also, the color of the wall is really pretty – do you mind sharing the name and brand, please?
Love your blog up the pop ups are annoying
Please tell me about the lamp on the dresser. Thanks.
Hi Peggy, it is from Ikea – isn’t it great?
Another gorgeous makeover, Suzanne. I’m sure your daughter is thrilled! Thanks for sharing the video on how you stained the top. It’s appreciated! It’s only one click to remove pop ups, and totally worth it for all the knowledge, videos, and tips you share with your readers …. free of charge. If a blog has great content like yours, why shouldn’t you advertise to help defray the cost? You rock, Suzanne!
Thank you so much, Cynthia! I really appreciate it!
What a beautiful dresser! You made it look so elegant! Well done! You have a beautiful eye for style! Your tips for staining are awesome and will certainly make life easier for all! I hope everyone views your video! If you are interested in joining up to one more party each week, I host making Broken Beautiful every Thursday thru Sunday and I’d love to host your inspiration! I hope you have an amazing day!
Smiles!
