Happy Monday, everyone! I’m starting the week by sharing a fun makeover that I finished over the weekend. The piece is a neat vintage record player cabinet that I found in a thrift store and is the perfect addition to my daughter, Sophie’s room. We are in the process of redoing her room into a teen bedroom and this was a great find.
Sophie loves music and believe it or not, she loves records. I purchased this vintage inspired record player as a Christmas present a few years ago. When I saw this little cabinet, I had to have it. I love the fret work on the bottom sides and it was in excellent condition (other than typical wear and tear).
Here it is after two coats of Annie Sloan chalk paint in Paris Gray with a wash of Old White and sanded in 220 grit to distress it in places and create a super smooth finish. It was sealed with Annie Sloan clear wax.
Sophie has already added her records into the cabinet. Such a fun find!
We are almost done with her room makeover. I’m now on the hunt for a bed. It has to be a twin as her room is small but I don’t want it to be a “little girl” looking bed. I found a fantastic mid-century dresser last week and we just put that in the room. It’s getting there!

It has a really cool 30’s vibe. I love it
