On to my favorite Annie Sloan color, Provence. It is hard to describe. Depending on the light and finish, it changes from a deeper blue to a brighter blue to an almost bluish/greenish color, as you can see from all the pictures below.
I just love it.with clear wax… with dark wax… with a wash…paired with gold highlights…I even color matched it for my daughter’s walls…It is exquisite. Yes, I am slightly obsessed 😉

Hi Suzanne, I love this color with the dark wax. However, I have tried multiple times to use dark wax and it just doesn’t look right. It pretty much just sits there in a dark blob. Do you have a tutorial or tips or techniques you can share for using dark wax? I love it when you do it; hate when I do it! Thanks again–Linda
Suzanne
Hi Linda – you need to apply it over clear wax and a very little goes a long way. Maison Blanch dark brown wax is my go-to. I like how it applies and is easy to manipulate. I like the tutorial idea – will do!

I love Provence. I’ve used it on a few pieces. It’s gorgeous with clear wax, with dark wax or with white wax. That color can do no wrong – it brings any piece back to life. The pieces you’ve used it on Suzanne and absolutely stunning!

Hi Suzanne! I too love this color! So much so that I almost wish I’d never seen it! I can not seem to lay off the turquoises. Have a good week
