A FRENCH CEDAR BLANKET CHEST

My favorite find from last week has been transformed with paint, wax and a lot of elbow grease!  Here is the before:

It is a gorgeous piece that I painted in a custom mix of chalk paint to create a french blue (Annie Sloan Provence/Louis Blue/Old White).  I added gold highlights (Martha Steward Metallic Antique Gold) and then sanded the piece down for a super smooth finish.  After Annie Sloan clear and dark wax were applied it created a gorgeous hue that actually changes in the light from a light to green blue.

The interior is clean as a whistle and lined in cedar.  It emits the most gorgeous cedar scent!
