Oh my, it has been so long since I last posted! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season and a very Happy New Year to you all!
What a year of change it has been. I started a new job that challenged me in many ways. I jumped right in and it has been extremely rewarding. I have grown so much with both my professional skills and personally with the new friendships I have made.
I must admit that in the process of navigating my new job, I let The Painted Drawer fade into the background. Working outside of the home as well as doing custom pieces for clients and the daily family/household responsibilities did not leave a lot of me (or time) for blogging. I am hoping that 2019 brings more balance between it all.
I am going to be very honest. There was more to it than just starting a new job and not having much time. I found my creativity with painted furniture was waning. I used to just salivate when I found an old beauty to transform but it became more of a chore and less of a creative outlet. I really want to concentrate on different artistic outlets as well as my home projects. I hope to share them all here and that they may be of interest to you in the coming year.
And so, my 2019 word of the year shall be “balance“. I hope you will enjoy new content this year as I transform my blog from solely painted furniture to a more interesting balance of design, home and lifestyle posts. I also need to balance my life and schedule to allow the creativity back in. That creative outlet is essential to my happiness. Balance in both my life and in the content of my blog will be my New Year’s resolution.
However, for today let us look back quickly on the top Painted Drawer furniture flips of 2018! Enjoy!

I am looking forward to what new surprises you have in store for us in 2019! I love what you do with the furniture pieces, but change is always good, and so cannot wait to tag along on your new adventure! Best Wishes for you and 2019!!!

I sure understand balances, job, kids, house, life…
It finds it’s balance.
