How many times have you thought about restyling your bathroom? Probably not as many times as your living room or kitchen, but nonetheless it’s one of the most interesting rooms in the modern home. One might even say, the most interesting. Not only does the bathroom have older materials that we may not see as much around the rest of the house anymore, but it also has the most modern. You can have wooden flooring, wooden towel racks but also, highly contemporary ceramic or bone china tiles, glass showers, stainless steel or copper faucets, not to mention marble sinks as well as cast iron. If you find that your bathroom is boring and needs to be reinvigorated, here are some ideas to try.
A little more sensitive
Nowadays, luxury in the bathroom is not purely defined by the materials you use. Nowadays, it’s all about technology and how advanced your bathroom features are. For example, check out this Sloan sensor faucet from Mark’s Plumbing Parts. There are tons of faucet designs and models which you can choose from and have them delivered to your home. This particular one, has a sensor just underneath the arched faucet, so all you need to do is to put your fingers or hand close to it to get it to pour water out. It uses a battery power supply that can be changed and charged. The polished chrome looks fantastic in any modern bathroom, especially one where there is plenty of natural light.
Is grey back?
There has been somewhat of a movement against grey in interior design circles. It’s been overdone they say, it’s just too widely seen all around the home. However, if your bathroom does have lots of white, then grey is the perfect companion to accompany it. The issue with blue and white in the bathroom is, it’s a little too predictable. Blue tiles, and features are almost as overdone as the grey. However, we think you should focus on grey flooring and tiles for the floor that has a matte finish so it’s non-slip. You can get them finished on a slightly coarse surface to help you to grip the floor when getting out of the shower.
Printed walls
What could go wrong with printed walls? They are timeless and especially when you have relevant designs to match the room. For example, your bathroom has something about the sea as the print. This could be shrimp, seashells, lobsters, whales, or seaweed. It’s up to you really, but just remember that the walls don’t have to be blue just because they represent the ocean. The creatures can be pink or grey, maybe silver and the background can be beige. Not to mention, just stick with plain old white if you don’t like slightly darker shades.
Bathroom interior designs have always been fascinating as they are in the middle of being practical and stylish. The trick to making a brilliant bathroom is to not favor one side over the other. These ideas should give you a starting point.
