I shared these tables with you a few weeks ago. My client asked me to do them along the lines of the French Cedar Blanket Chest. They were perfect for this finish.
I used Annie Sloan chalk paint in Provence but I changed it up by applying it over Martha Stewart’s Antique Gold and by using both clear and dark waxes. It became a very french finish!Using the two tones of wax gave the pieces more depth and character and the hue of the paint changes in the light. They were also distressed to show off their gorgeous detail.
The pulls were missing and I found these beautiful replacement chippendale pulls online at D.Lawless Hardware. Their elegance are the perfect complement for the tables and give them that extra gold touch. The tops were left as-is – they were in perfect condition – and the dark, gleaming wood looks beautiful against the blue.
I believe these tables show that paint can enhance a piece of furniture and bring out the beautiful detailing. Paint can add and not detract from the original beauty and style.
They are being picked up in an hour. I hope she loves them!
