Winter is usually a time to relax and get comfortable at home, but now the Christmas decorations are away, this could be the perfect opportunity to add a little vibrancy to your nest. And with more time spent at home, there’s little reason not to.

Paint your walls or a canvas.
A feature wall with a splash of colour will make your home come to life. If beige and cream is your thing, try a muted orange or even a patterned wallpaper. There are plenty of painting video tutorials you can learn from.
If not a wall, you might try a canvas. So what, you’re not Picasso? It doesn’t mean you can’t give painting a go. Ordering canvases and brushes are the first steps. If you already have those, great. Next, find a space you can clean easily if the paint is spilt, or put a sheet down. Then all you need to do is paint away. Be as abstract or detailed as you like. With practice, you may even decide to display your work pride of place.
Upgrade your curtains.
Like your walls, curtains can add a splash of colour to an otherwise simply decorated room. Patterns are the way to go if you prefer a particular theme. For nautical-inspired rooms, for instance, why not try tying the drapes with a rope? There are thousands of different materials to choose from. Heavier fabric curtains will create an upmarket aesthetic while insulating your room. Still chilly? Check out more home insulation ideas.
Renovate.
You might be thinking it’s time to modernise or extend your home, and why not? It will give your family more space, and if you ever sell, your home will be worth more. It’s a win-win. To entirely reinvent your living space, or renovate it for that matter, OzBoz Constructions offer a professional carpentry and construction service that will revamp your home to your liking.
Add some greenery.
Houseplants remove toxins from the air, create a calming atmosphere and add colour to your home. If your schedule does not allow for the taking care of plants, try cacti or succulents, as they need little attention. Placing them on a windowsill and watering them when the top layer of soil is dry will ensure a longer life. Here’s some more information on how to care for your green friends.
Put up a shelf.
This sounds like an unlikely solution to add vibrancy, but in fact, a shelf creates an opportunity to display items such as ornaments, trinkets or photos in an aesthetically pleasing way. They’re practical and will declutter your space.
Rearrange your room layout.
A simple way to create a feeling of newness to your space is to consider the floorplan. Feng Shui is real, and you can use it to your advantage. Creating an ‘H’ shape around a coffee table or a ‘C’ shape facing a fireplace or television will encourage a social environment with chairs or sofas.
