Matthew and I had a wonderful time in England! Like a pilgrim to Mecca I made my way to Oxford and the original Annie Sloan shop! Annie was away (boo) but I was pleased that the woman working in the shop actually knew who I was once I introduced myself 🙂 We took many photos to share with you all so you can take a look and get a feel of the shop and Oxford itself, which is absolutely gorgeous.
We spent the rest of the week touring London and I do believe we managed to see about every major sight – the London Tower, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s Cathedral, The London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, Hyde Park, Oxford Street, Harrods, Soho, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, museums and even more. Whew! It was a ton of walking and my son is now a London underground pro. We also spent time with family which was really special as I hadn’t seen many of them for a very long time. I’ll share a few pics tomorrow (I hate to bore you all so I will only share a few!) and hope to get over the jet lag soon 🙂

looks like you had a wonderful trip with your son. Love the pictures. I had a chance to Meet Annie Sloan a few years ago when she came to Montreal.
P.S. I don’t know if it’s from my end, but the caps lock key does not seem to work as I type this comment. Not sure how it looks from your end.

Hi Mary – yes, we had a wonderful time! I would love to have met Annie but she was in Ethiopia and it didn’t happen. Maybe one day! BTW, I absolutely loved your whitewashed dresser you posted a few weeks ago -so gorgeous!

Wow! You clever girl! My sister spent a year at Oxford and did very well. It is so gorgeous. I shall go to York next time and travel the country more. There is so much in England to see! I would love to go to where the Bronte sisters lived as well as Austen. One day!

Awesome shots London! I really enjoyed seeing your pics that bring back memories of our own trip to London. What a wonderful experience for your son and special mum/son one-on-one time; doesn’t happen that often! Adore the Annie Sloan shots too and social culture documentation. (sorry but ‘caps’ are not working)
Suzanne
Thank you, Sharon. We had such a wonderful trip! And the weather was chilly but not bad at all. It was certainly special!

Beautiful! Too bad you missed Annie Sloan but it must’ve been so fun being in the very shop where it all began. Thanks for sharing Suzanne. I just have to say, go back up to the third photo after the video and take a look at the man walking with a woman on the right. Now look back at your son in the photo. There is a striking resemblance. Was he one of your relatives or are my eyes playing tricks on me.
Suzanne
Hi Marie! Thanks so much – we had such a wonderful time! That is so funny about the pic as no, it is not a relative. Just a stranger strolling by lol! Oxford was so beautiful and I’m so glad that we were able to go. The AS shop is gorgeous!
