Yesterday I shared how the French Drexel Dresser was shaping up. I had painted the base coat in General Finishes Driftwood and was looking for a whitewashed finish. I decided to add their Winter White Glaze on top and then distress. I managed to finish it today and am so happy with the result. This dresser was beautiful to begin with and the paint/glaze has really brought it back to life. The top has been refinished and stained dark walnut which sets off the finish nicely.
I’m going to share a bunch of pics. I tried to capture the hues of the finish and hope I managed to.
Enjoy the weekend, everyone!

Do you have to use a wax or any type of topcoat with these products? Love how the color turned out!

Hi Stephanie, no actually you don’t have to wax. It is a very smooth, durable finish. One of the big advantages of this product. Still love my chalk paint, though!

What products did you use on the top ? the dark walnut stain ? I just divorced myself from the Minwax all in one..stain/poly. I used it before with success…and this time it fought me every step of the way..Just stripped it all off and ready for a new product to try..Thx

I used Minwax Dark Walnut stain and their Wipe-On Poly. I didn’t really want the super shiny look on this piece that the PolyShades gives. I’ve just received General Finishes Gel Stains and am looking forward to trying it out next week and posting about it. Wish me luck 🙂 Thanks!

So gorgeous as always Suzanne 🙂 I love the contrast of the stain on the top and the paint on the body, totally fantastic!
