Doing so may seem like a huge effort, but it really doesn’t have to be, and even if you do need to undertake a big job or two, it will be worth it when you can sell your home for more. The market is very competitive in a lot of places right now, so the more attractive you can make your home to buyers, the better.
With that in mind, here are some of the best ways to make your home more saleable right now:
Maintain the garden
If your garden is picture-perfect, then you need do nothing more than keep the lawn mowed and the bushes pruned. However, if you have been letting things slack outdoors, it’s a good idea to give it a bit of a clean up before you sell because the exterior of your home is the first thing sellers will see, so if it isn’t in a good condition, it could immediately put them off, no matter how amazing the inside is.
Mend fences, mow lawns, plant flowers prune trees and bushes that could be growing out of control or obscuring the view from your windows, and hide the kids’/pets toys in the shed or garage so that the garden is always looking its best and ensure your home makes an amazing first impression.
Spruce up the kitchen and bathroom
Most buyers, when looking for a new home, as well as ensuring that a property is big enough for their family, will want to see the kitchen and the bathroom above all else. This makes sense because these are two rooms that have a lot of fixtures and fittings, which can be expensive to replace, and of course, the kitchen is also the heart of the home.
So, if you want to make your home as saleable as possible, it is sellable as possible, it is a really good idea to spend some time and money on improving them. So, before you put it on the market, go around all the doors and apply a good lubricant to all of the handles and hinges so you can be sure your home is squeak-free.
