I’ve had fun the past few days working on this great crackle finished dresser that I picked up a few weeks ago. I shared it on my Favorite Find Monday and here is its before pic:
The dresser was full of detail and I knew it would look amazing once it was painted. I went with a classic color combination – Annie Sloan Louis Blue with gold highlights. The gorgeous hardware is original and the dresser even has a working key for those keyhole drawers. Beautiful!
Here is the after!
The dresser had two coats of Louis Blue applied and was then sanded to distress and create a smooth finish. Using Annie Sloan clear wax and Maison Blanche dark brown wax, I both sealed and aged the piece. The details were highlighted with Cire a Dorer gold gilding wax. At the bottom of the post I’ve added my YouTube Channel videos on both adding dark wax and gold gilding wax.
