I had such a good time working on this cabinet! It is very old and full of amazing detail. I decided to glam it up and painted it red using Dixie Belle Barn Red chalk mineral paint. The Dixie Belle Gold Shimmer glaze was the perfect finishing touch!

Here is the “before” pic. The piece was just a very dark and dated brown.

It took two coats of the Barn Red chalk mineral paint to cover the cabinet fully. I lightly brushed over the detail which allowed the darker wood to pop through the red and really show off its detail.

I then used Dixie Belle Best Dang Wax by applying it with a soft, clean rag.

I let the wax cure over night and the next day had fun with the Gold Shimmer glaze. It is very subtle but really comes alive in the light. I used a small sponge brush to apply the glaze over the details and added new gold pulls from World Market to finish the look.
