I have run into a slight snag with the 1930’s vintage cabinet. The shelves that were given to me by the seller in a separate box that I was told belonged to the cabinet – well, they do not. However, we can work with them and plan on using our Dremel tool to create new notches inside the cabinet to fit the shelves. I am also waiting on the new hardware to arrive that I ordered from Etsy.
Here is a sneak peek:
Here is the hardware for the cabinet that I purchased on Etsy from Supplies Art World:
And, here are the wrong shelves (you didn’t have to see these but hey, why not?) Hopefully we can make them work 🙂
Urgent Home Repairs that Shouldn’t Wait
Did you know that the average person has 9 jobs that they are procrastinating on getting finished (or even started on). Sure, this statistic may make you feel better because you are not alone, but if you carry on ignoring what needs to be done, you may end up spending way more money in the long run.
Gas Leaks!
If you smell gas, or if you suspect that you have a gas leak, then it is vital that you take immediate action. Gas leaks can be dangerous to say the least because just a simple spark can easily cause a fire or even worse, an explosion. If you suspect there may be a gas leak in your home, however small, your gas supply should be turned off at the meter and you should also open your doors and windows. Gas leaks, at the end of the day, are not just dangerous to you. They are also dangerous to those around you. This is why it’s so vital that you contact your gas company immediately.
Damaged Roofs
Keeping your gutters clear is one of the many responsibilities you have as a homeowner, and if you do not do it then you may end up jeopardizing your insurance policy. Ideally, the gutters should be cleaned several times a year. Of course if your roof line is too high and it is dangerous to climb a ladder, you will need to hire someone to do this for you. If you need to replace your entire roof then you will need to hire a professional. They can work with you to make sure that the job is done properly and also install new gutters with guards. If you want some help with that then contact A to Z Construction.
Water Leaks
Leaks need fixing immediately in order to save thousands of dollars in future repairs of structural damage or rot. If you know that you have a leak, then you need to plug the leak and you also need to replace the leaking pipe as soon as you can. Replacement faucets really are so affordable but at the same time, you get what you pay for so make sure that you do not opt for the cheapest option you can find. It’s best to hire a plumber to tackle these jobs but depending how handy you are, it may be possible to fix small leaks yourself.
Broken Doors and Windows
Broken windows and doors need repairing quickly to both stop trespassers from entering your home, as well as to save you money on your energy bills. It’s more than possible for you to fix the shattered glass yourself on your doors and windows. All you need is a putty knife, some window putty, a hammer, nails, glass, and some glaziers’ points. Or bring in a professional to take care of your windows for you. It is not too expensive and worth the investment.
Blocked Drains and Toilets
Clogged shower drains can easily be fixed. Simply unscrew the plug and then pull out any hair that might be underneath. Make sure that you wear gloves while you do this. If your other drains are blocked, then it is possible for you to remove the blockage by hand. If you are unable to see what is causing the blockage then it is very easy for you to use toilet plungers. It’s also possible for you to pour vinegar and baking soda down the drain.
