I love the “free” items on Craigslist! Show me a good curbside find and I am there! This table was one of those free items listed on our local Craigslist and my husband drove over and picked it up for me from their curb.

I grant you, it was ugly. Very dated and very orange. However, it is solid wood and a great size. Into the garage it went and it has sat there all summer/fall/winter until now.
It only took me about 2 hours today to get it a makeover…

I used Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint for the base. This is the color is Haint Blue and is a very pretty, pale blue.

The top was stained in Dixie Belle No Pain Gel Stain in Walnut. It was already so stripped down by the weather and age, that I only had to go over it very lightly with 150 grit sandpaper before applying the stain.

I very lightly distressed the details and then sealed it with Dixie Belle Best Dang Wax in clear. I love it!

I will hopefully be able to share more about our board and batten project that we took on for our foyer. Here is a quick peek at the progress. I decided I wanted a larger ledge and so we had to take down the one we just installed and but new wood. This is (hopefully) the last hang up!
