FFM: Gorgeous Vintage Bowfront Dresser

5 February, 2017 by Suzanne

I picked this dresser up yesterday and I’m thrilled with it.  It is in very bad shape with a lot of damage to the surface but the actual bones of the piece are in excellent shape.  Solid wood with dovetailed construction and beautiful original hardware.  The front is bowed and has lovely detail.  Such a pretty piece!Bowfront dresser Bowfront dresser Bowfront dresser Bowfront dresser Bowfront dresser Bowfront dresserI also picked up a console table in pieces and two outdoor furniture lounge chair cushions.  A good day!

Love this piece! Are you painting for yourself or will it go up for sale. If for sale, let me know!

This will be lovely! I can’t wait to see what you do with this…and how you will fix those missing pieces toward the bottom. I have a small dresser, very old, that is missing wood. I would like to fix/paint it but have to attempted the ‘fixing’ part before.

It’s a very pretty piece. How do you repair missing pieces of trim and the missing pieces along the bottom?

Hi Linda – with wood putty and sandpaper and a lot of elbow grease! ?

This will be an awesome before and after transformation, Suzanne. Good luck to you with that missing veneer. That dresser went to the right home. You’ll bring back it’s former glory. 😀
