What a very pretty Favorite Find Monday I have to share with you today – Lily’s Armoire! Lily is away at sleepaway camp and while she is having fun, her mother is having her own fun redoing her room. Lily just turned 13 and her room is going from little girl to teen girl. Part of this makeover is this armoire. It is a very vintage piece with its great detail and wheels on the feet. However, it has seen better days. It has a lot of flaking paint that will need to be taken care of before I get started on the fun part. Lily’s room will be gray with one wall of a deep pink and we are going for a darker gray on this piece.
I hope to finish this piece in a few weeks and will share then!

Love the armoire. Can’t wait to see what you do with it!

Will you be making silicone molds for resin casting replacements for the missing carved trim?
Suzanne
Hi Anna, I feel pieces are “perfectly imperfect” and I love that they show their age. I will work with what we have and play with it to make it all gel so to speak! We shall see! Thanks!

What a great find ! I love old pieces, can’t wait to see it finished. Your work is sooo nice .. Could you please tell me how you clean your paint brushes? I am having a hard time getting mine clean after I have used chalk paint . Back to the garage to paint some more! Thanks Diane G.

You had to have the pull outs, behind the two doors, made, didn’t you? I’ve never seen anything like that come with a beautiful piece like this. It was a very good call to make this piece more functional.

Hi Jean, actually the drawers were part of the original piece and yes, it is unusual. It is also super heavy lol! Thanks!

Love the colors you picked for Lilly’s armoire. You said that you applied General Finishes Limestone, then 2 coats of of Annie Sloan’s Linen. To me the color application looks reversed. Is Limestone a grey color? I really wanted to use the same colors on my dresser. Please let me know. Kathy N.
Suzanne
Hi Kathy, I did apply the Limestone first and then the French Linen. When I sanded back, the Limestone popped through. Best of luck on your piece!
