I had this little nightstand in my garage. It actually is the matching piece to the Aubusson Armoire and a beautiful piece of furniture.I decided to go with General Finishes milk paint in the color Coastal Blue. I always love how this color pairs with brass or gold hardware. I used my Royal Design Studio’s Royal Stencil Creme in the color Antique Gold and applied it onto the detail to make it pop. The antique gold is a great match to its drawer pulls and feet so the whole thing just came together. I love this one. I actually am thinking of redoing the Aubusson Armoire to match this table. It will look great in my bedroom and I think its the first step in my bedroom makeover! I’ve been wanting to start on this project for months and I’m glad to finally have an idea on how to get it going 🙂

The difference is amazing – I love the color!!! I see these types of tables all of the time, but never imagined they could look this good with paint.

Thanks, Liz! I am in love with this one. Can’t wait to get it upstairs into my bedroom and do a total bedroom makeover 🙂

Beautiful! Can you tell me what you used on the hardware and feet? Thanks!
Suzanne
Hi Connie – I just wiped them down with a paper towel. However, I have used Brasso in the past and it works well on real brass to clean it up. I have also used a combo of vinegar and baking soda. It isn’t as strong as Brasso so if they are super dirty I would stick to the touch stuff.

It truly looks like a different piece of furniture. Great job Suzanne – as usual.

Absolutely beautiful Suzanne! What is the kind of paint and color that you used on this piece?
Suzanne
Hi Marilyne, it is General Finishes milk paint in the color Coastal Blue and the stencil creme is Antique Gold by Royal Design Studios. Thanks!
Lynn
I totally adore painted furniture although my own personal taste doesn’t include distressing the piece after painting. So this transformation is just up my street…..I love it soooo much!!!
Great job as always Suzanne!!
Suzanne
Thanks so much, Lynn! I can see your point about the distressing. Some pieces call for it while others are much better off just straight painted. This was one of them and I do love the clean look. Cheers!
Connie
Wow! What a gorgeous change and I thought it looked pretty to begin with and had lots of possibilities but your result is really striking. It’s a perfect piece to begin a bedroom makeover.
Suzanne
Thank you, Connie – I need to get started on this bedroom makeover now! Cheers!

Such a gorgeous color and perfect for this piece of furniture! Is it American of Martinsville by any chance? I have a very similar tall chest of drawers that I picked out of the garbage! Also, I love the hardware!

This is just lovely!!! I wish the piece were mine.

What a stunning transformation! I just absolutely love that hardware. It’s so chic! Thanks for sharing at The Creative Circle. I bet the armoire will be equally beautiful if you do decide to go with the same makeover.
