Favorite Find Monday – Autumnal Dresser

24 August, 2015 by Suzanne

I found this Neoclassical style dresser a few weeks ago and was thrilled. The drawers work perfectly, it is a fantastic length with wonderful lines and it will be amazing once painted!IMG_1568 IMG_1564 IMG_1565

The damage is pretty minimal and easy to fix and I really like the drawer pulls.  I’m thinking a stained top and painted bottom.

It will be a gorgeous piece when done!

It’s beautiful! Great find, and I also love the hardware. Can’t wait to see it transformed.

Thank you for the remarks about painted furniture. Every time I find a new piece to paint, my neighbor sees it in the garage and says, “OH!! You’re not going to PAINT that are you?” It hurts my feelings every time!!

I know – especially when you work hard on a piece just to have someone say they “shed a tear” when they saw it! Oh, well. To each his own 🙂 Paint on Ellen Jane!

This is a beautiful piece and I can see why some people would have difficulty painting it. At first glance it looks perfect, but the close up photos show otherwise. I too think it will be nice with a stained top and painted base. That way you can please everyone! 😉

Someday, 30 or 40 years down the road, someone will be blogging about the painted piece of furniture they just stripped and restored. Trends change and we each have our own tastes. I for one, can’t wait to see this piece when you’re finished. #Lovepainted!

I have seen a few really poorly painted pieces in the thrift store lately. It had to happen!

The only thing I might cry about is that I will probably never be able to paint a piece of furniture and have it look like anything you do..which is why I have a bunch of ugly unpainted furniture. hahaha

You are one lucky lady, Suzanne! That piece screams quality. I hope you didn’t have to put that one on your roof ! 😉 It looks heavy! Will be looking forward to seeing it’s transformation!
