I have spent the weekend and yesterday working on my dining room and it’s still not ready for a reveal! I can only say that I have stopped fighting it. I am embracing it. Quite the epiphany!
Today I can share a few really awful pics because the room is still in progress and my house is a total mess because of it. I had wanted to share pics of the new and improved sideboard but it’s giving me grief and I am not yet done. The table and chairs are next. My kids are home today as well and that is adding to the sense of chaos! Calgon, take me away! That reference may make zero sense to some of you – sorry for being so old 🙂

You painted the buffet! I love the color and the hand stenciled detail! Now, can’t wait to see what you’re going to do with your table…drum roll please….

I read your dining room dilemma post and I was going to say that if it were me, this is what I would do. I would paint the wonderful farmhouse table the way that I wanted it and I would swap it out for the lovely Ethen Allan table. But, I would keep that table and see how much I really do like the newly refinished one. Perhaps I would find come a big family get together that I am missing my big table. But, if I really liked the “new” one then I would try to sell the lovely Ethan Allan one on Craigslist. Just a suggestion, because I am like you, I would be filled with guilt over the amount of money that was spent on it.
Do you have a basement room that could use the large table perhaps?
Have a good day and I will be interested in seeing what you end up doing. I will try to bookmark your blog.
Hugs, Cindy
