I receive many questions on the type of paint and colors that I use on my pieces. I am creating a Paint Color Series to help. First up, Annie Sloan Chalk Paint!

Great Idea Suzanne!

Thanks Suzanne. Now I know the color my table was painted. Still in the process of unpacking and putting my place together and once accomplished I’ll take a picture and send.

Love the Florence color. We may have to do something with that!

I love it too and especially on the right piece it can just really soar. I can’t wait to work on another piece for you! Let me know…

Hi we bought the Louie and it was much more purple based than we liked. Does using the wax change the colour?
Suzanne
Hi – yes, it is a really bright blue and I can see why you would say purple based. The piece I listed as my example (the little vintage table) is the only piece I have done in straight Louie Blue. I did add a clear wax and it does deepen the hue. I typically use Louis Blue mixed with Old White which tones it down. It is great to add into other colors and I also love it as a base color to layer. It is rather strong all alone. Thanks!
