I spent the morning working on this fantastic find – a huge farmhouse cabinet. It came in two pieces so I could actually fit it in my van to bring it home – the little things in life!
I particularly love the wood as it has been stripped back and is so rustic. With this in mind, I decided a wash was the way to go. This will not totally cover the wood and will brighten it up at the same time.
I made two YouTube tutorial videos on the process to share. The first is applying the wash:
The second is on wiping the wash down to create a soft look.
OK, they are less than professional videos (I have no idea how to edit, etc!) but you may get something out of it!
I hope to have it finished by Thursday to share 🙂

hi!
i couldn’t get the second video to work … have a cupboard that I am interested in putting a wash on. Can you send to me again?
Thanks!

Nice! I’d like to know (because I have a hutch I am trying to figure out what I want to paint it)…. do you think the hutch would look good and show off white, etc.. dishes, etc.. with the background as WHITEWASHED and the hutch itself as annie sloan chalk paint pure white distressed? do you have anything painted like that?
very nice furniture and good work! natalie
