We’re coming to the end of 2022, which means most of us are slipping into a mode of rest and relaxation. Major projects are being paused or rounded up and we’re likely to spend the last month of the year catching up with loved ones and getting some much needed recuperation time. But now is also a good time to think about what lies ahead in 2023. Chances are, you’ve got all sorts of goals bouncing around your mind, ranging from health and fitness to career goals and more. But why not take a moment to focus on your home and home improvement? Are there any changes that you’d like to carry out on your home through the 12 months ahead? Get planning and see which would best suit your needs and serve as fun projects to look forward to! Here are some suggestions if you’re looking for some inspiration.
The Kitchen
Kitchens are widely considered the heart of the home – and for good reason. We tend to spend a fair amount of time in our kitchens, preparing food and catching up with loved ones in the process. People often tend to gather in the kitchen when you invite friends and family over too. But seeing as this space is so well loved, it tends to undergo a fair amount of wear and tear too. So, 2023 could be the year to spruce it up! Decide what needs changing or replacing. You don’t have to go all out with a full refit – though you can if circumstances call for it. Visit a Cabinet Showroom, look into replacing the oven, get quotes for having appliances built in and hidden behind cupboard fronts and more. You may even want to consider new countertops if yours are showing signs of age.
The Bathroom
Bathrooms are another room in your home that goes through a lot of use. Bathrooms are used day in and day out, at the same time as being exposed to a lot of water and temperature changes. This means that you may need to undergo a little renovation over time. This could be deep cleaning grout or reapplying silicone that has begun to peel or stain. You may want to consider new tiles. You could have a new bath tub fitted if you’re looking for an alternative look. You may even want to consider a new toilet with additional features, such as a toilet with a bidet or modern Japanese style toilets.
The Bedroom
When’s the last time you showed your bedroom some TLC? Most changes carried out in bedrooms are largely aesthetic, so this could be a simple and lower cost project. Something as simple as changing the colour scheme with a fresh coat of new paint can make all the difference. Of course, whenever you’re painting a room, you may want to get some paint samples and try them out. This helps you to see how they look when they dry and when they are in the light specific to the room you’re decorating!
The starting points above could get 2023’s home improvement project off to the best start possible!
