So you spent all of the spring getting your garden ready for summer. Summer came and went, and now you’re starting to feel the chill. There’s plenty to embrace about this. You can stay indoors and cozy up on the sofa, you have an excuse to weather comfy sweaters, and you love how there’s something pleasantly tranquil about a frosty morning. However, this doesn’t mean you should ignore garden maintenance, no matter how cold it gets outside. If you want to make sure your garden is in perfect condition for next year. Here are some things to remember.
Look After Your Tools
Your tools aren’t going to be of much use if you don’t look after them, and now is the time to make sure they are in top condition for next year. As you won’t need to use them for the foreseeable future, cleaning them, carrying out maintenance, and storing them safely will avoid an extra job in the future. This is time to repair your lawn mower and replace parts, sharpen the blades, and test that everything works. If you use a gas mower, empty the tank so it doesn’t expire over the next few months. Before all this, though, give your lawn one last run over.

If you’re lucky enough to have a pool, hot tub, or any other backyard accessory that you use regularly during the spring and summer, you should get ahead of the seasons and make repairs now. If there are any issues you’ve noticed, such as pool liner repair or damaged filters, getting in touch with a company now means you can avoid the dash that will come next year. As you are unlikely to use these accessories over the winter, you don’t need to worry about it disrupting anything, but they will be ready as soon as you are.
