If you have any type of skills and work for yourself then you will know the importance of having a good website. It is how you advertise and promote yourself and it really is a vital aspect of your work. Getting a great internet provider is also important so you can be sure it is going to be reliable and that you don’t have to fear that your work is going to be lost or that you won’t be able to connect with your prospective clients. You may want to look at CenturyLink Internet Service for example. It’s important to hone in on what your skills are which is why you should be sure to look at the following if you are working in the digital world.
Can you help someone with website building? Are you good at SEO? Can you design?

Photography – If this is your strong point and you have a good DSLR camera and a good knowledge of all the different lens renegades then you can start offering photography services to people. This could be for a number of businesses but you will find that photography is a huge game and can be so important to lots of businesses. Instagram for example is a website based entirely on imagery.
HTML and design – Do you have design applications on your computer and can you design themes and websites? If you want to help people with their businesses, you will find that they will be willing to spend money to get the best. The world of HTML is complex and requires a great skill set which is what you could offer in the digital world.
Affiliate marketing – This is a whole topic in itself but this is a way to make money online which is commission based. With access to the internet and a good provider, you can connect whenever you want and so what this means is that you can earn money whilst you sleep by someone clicking your link and buying a product through that link. You can slip these links anywhere you choose, across your website and other platforms. It’s easy to work from home!
Sales and selling for brands – A lot of brands have e commerce sites now and so if you have a good sales reputation, then you will find that there are ways that you can also sell online. If you like to sell products or books then this is possible or you could assist other companies in setting this up. E commerce websites can be tricky to set up but they can really assist in the long run especially during the Covid 19 crisis when a lot of high street shops had to close up. Without a website, many businesses would be forgotten and even lose business entirely. It shows the complete positive element of E commerce and the digital world. There is plenty to offer and plenty to get back but you must certainly be selling it the right way and for the right reasons.

Juggling things
You may decide that before your business becomes full time, you are juggling a multitude of different things. Perhaps you already have a full time or part time job and maybe you have children which has sparked your desire to work from home. Or perhaps you are a carer or you are disabled which is totally fine. Don’t be disheartened if things take a while to get off the ground because there are some tips to help your business succeed and to keep that connection going. If it is your passion then certainly the opportunity will be there for you.
It is good to prioritise. Prioritising is your best friend and although it may seem like the easiest thing in the world, it actually is quite tough. Start with a fresh sheet of paper and write down a list of what you need to do. Write it in the order of what you WANT to do then a list of what you NEED to do. Once you have both lists you can see if anything overlaps and then you can get a better insight into what needs to be done and why. Whatever the top three things are, focus on them first and do not stress on the time limit. Things get done in your own time and you should never rush especially in business. It’s important to create good things in your business and if you have to push it to the background every once in a while then that is OK. We have families and lives, and sometimes business just doesn’t take a front seat.
Multitasking is going to be your best friend. If you are concerned about getting things done then you should try to look into making some notes about your business whilst you’re cooking or record yourself talking whilst you’re driving to your current job. You can brainstorm ideas just about everywhere and use your surroundings as inspiration. Don’t overly obsess.
Spreadsheets can help
Keep a spreadsheet. Use Excel if this is possible because it is a great way to keep track of all your contacts and keep upto date with the money going in and out. Colour coordinating your contacts so that you can highlight a job in progress and a job that is completed as well as needing to chase anyone for things. Plan when you want things done and set yourself deadlines but don’t use them as a strict deadline because this can add to your stress. Just be sure to look at getting things done and working towards a goal. With a good internet connection and a good computer, you can achieve a lot so be sure that you have all the tools and equipment to make your life a little easier! You are capable of creating something amazing and it’s time to start believing in it. No more than ever before, working from home and being independent is important for a happier future.
