I’m back from gorgeous Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and we had such a wonderful time! I took a ton (yes, a ton) of pics to share with you. Â Mexico is truly heaven with gorgeous, vibrant colors, wonderful people and fabulous – I mean fabulous – food. Â We were so impressed by the hospitality and kindness shown to us there. Â If I didn’t have three kids waiting for me at home, I honestly would not have left!
I’ve broken the pics down into galleries and if you wish to see a larger version of the pic, just click on it. Â The first is of our hotel, the Grand Miramar. Â It is situated up a mountain and has the most amazing views. Â There was an infinity pool on the rooftop, as well as three pools lower down. Â The staff were amazing and the food was great. Â We had breakfast everyday with fresh fruit and this wonderful celery and cactus drink that I need to somehow find here!
The second gallery is our tour of a national park, Islas Marietas. Â The islands are protected so the boats can only go so close and you are not allowed on the actually islands themselves. Â They are home to Blue Footed Booby, birds which are only found here and the Galapagos Islands. Â We went bird watching, snorkeling, kayaking and I attempted to paddleboard (I was trying to look like one of the Hollywood stars out on the sea in their teeny bathing suits on their paddleboards but I didn’t quite pull off the look!) Â It was a ton of fun and the crew were so great. Â They provided breakfast, lunch and entertainment.
Next is the Vallarta Botanical Gardens. Â These are located in the mountains where it is very tropical. Â We hiked down to a fresh water stream and went for a swim. Â The Gardens are full of color and plants and species that I can’t even begin to describe. Â We ate lunch there atop a mountain where we saw wild birds fly by – fabulous!
Here is downtown Puerto Vallarta and the older section of the city with cobblestone streets. Â There was so much to see and such amazing food to try that we needed another few weeks to see it all!
And, of course, here is the beach! Â We walked along and enjoyed ourselves in the many restaurants along the beachfront. Â My husband and I kicked back with a drink or two ð and had amazing fresh seafood, tacos, etc. Â They even had a full band with a tuba player that strolled along!
Heaven!
You’re making me so jealous! I live in Oklahoma, and my vacations always consist of leaving the state or driving 2.5 hours to Oklahoma city for a ‘mini-weekend getaway’ since I work 2 jobs! maybe one of these days i’ll get to see the beach again! great pics as always Suzanne!
