It’s spring break and we are having a “staycation”. Ella is in NYC with her BFF and that leaves Matthew and Sophie home with me. I took the kids biking yesterday and we went to a favorite place, the Capital Crescent Trail. We stopped along the way to bike through a gorgeous older neighborhood named Kenwood that abuts the trail. It is well known for its spring cherry blossom trees. If you don’t want to fight the crowds at the Tidal Basin in DC, then this is the place to be. I love Kenwood because I also like to be nosey and look at the gorgeous old homes. I took a few pics to share and there are more if you click on the link above 🙂
We have the gorgeous cherry blossom trees in our neighborhood too. The pics below were taken today while taking Lucky for a walk.

My favorite time of year. That tree lined street is just gorgeous!

So pretty. I use to work in D.C. and miss seeing these around the Tidal Basin, although I didn’t appreciate it as much then as I would now. Funny how getting older will do that to a person.

Gorgeous! We have cherry blossoms in Seattle, as well. Wouldn’t it be awesome if they could come up with a variety that bloomed all summer?! Happy Spring!
