Today marks a milestone. After three kids, I am finally finished with the joys of elementary school.
As I take a bow, I celebrate the countless poster board projects, cereal box planets, villages made out of blocks, teepees out of tinker toys, peeps dioramas, a working didgeridoo out of a pvc pipe, Halloween costumes, Valentine cards, field days, science fair projects, international nights, school band concerts, class parties as room mom including endless games, a spaghetti bowl of spiders and boxes and boxes and boxes of doughnuts and let’s not forget the field trips in hot, sweaty, loud, and headache inducing school buses – did I mention loud? In the approximately 30 trips as parent chaperone, I only lost a kid once (don’t judge me – you would have lost this one too ;))
It was wonderful. I will miss the hugs from the kids and all the sweet little faces.
I cheerfully and thankfully pass the baton on to all the young moms out there. Have fun ladies!

Right there with you this year and not sad about it at all 🙂 As they move into middle and high school, it gets easier and crazier all at the same time. You will be busy with sports and driving them here and there like you never dreamed! Another stage – but a great one!

I know, right? I feel that I have never been so busy in my life! The driving around alone is exhausting lol!

No, it is not over. Wait until your a grandma….
Suzanne
I can wait a few more years for that 🙂 but seriously, the way time flies it will be in the blink of an eye!

Don’t feel bad about losing the child on a field trip. We had 4 adults and 3 children at DisneyWorld and still lost a child! Yes, that was 3 children.
Suzanne
Oh so funny! It can happen! Especially when that one child (in my case) really should have been on a leash or accompanied by her own parent – what an experience!
