Remember my Favorite Find Monday? It’s a vintage Martha Washington sewing table. Well, I decided to give it a go with a color that I happen to love on this little piece – pale yellow.
Redone in General Finishes Buttermilk Yellow, it now has true cottage charm…
After a few coats of the pale yellow, I applied their Van Dyke Brown glaze over the body. I then took their Winter White glaze and glazed over the brown/yellow combo.
The drawers are slightly more yellow because I only added the white glaze on these, making them a brighter yellow that pop out a bit in color. The pearly white, ceramic pulls also add cottage charm.
It’s a neat little table. The top opens on it’s sides and the legs are very sweet. My daughter said it would be great in a bathroom to put rolls of toilet paper in – she’s right!
Very pretty and cheerful! Loving it!
I love the color! Great job, as always
Sooo pretty! I love the color!
Thank you for the brilliant idea for toilet paper! I have this exact sewing cabinet that grandma kept her knitting in. I painted mine white. It will be great in my powder room.
Hi Kellie – so funny! I told my daughter and she is very happy to have given a design tip! Cheers, Suzanne
So cute!! Thank you for sharing at redouxinteriors and the new Handmade Hangout! Sharing tomorrow afternoon at the party when it opens
Do you still have the original drawer pulls? I need one.
Me too, I need one, did she ever answer you?
Hi Debbie – no I am sorry I don’t have them any longer. I believe I used them on the interior of an old secretary desk. You may want to try Ebay. There are a lot of sellers with vintage hardware on there. Thanks!
