I just started work on my newest thrifted, trash to treasure endeavor! A very beaten up vintage dresser that I brought home last week.
Yesterday, I sanded back the top. I’ve attached my orbital sander to my shop vac using duct tape. Works like a charm – no more dust up my nose!
I just had to share the goodness underneath…
and here it is after one coat of Dixie Belle Walnut Gel Stain.

I have almost the same dresser in the garage just waiting ?. What grit sandpaper did you use?
Hi Susan, I used 80 and then 150. And then, after all that work, it looked better with the top painted! Once I decided to keep those drawers wood, I had to paint the top or all the different wood stains and the paint would be too much. All that effort lol!
