I first posted about my amazing find a few weeks ago. A gorgeous vintage, Drexel Heritage set. A lovely dresser and mirror that I had been searching for all summer. They are going to New York into a little girl’s bedroom and her mother had been patiently waiting months for me to find the right set.
Did I ever find it! Here is the “before” of the dresser and mirror:
And here is the “after” of the dresser and mirror together.
I used Annie Sloan’s Old White on both the dresser and mirror. I added General Finishes Milk Paint in Antique White to the drawer fronts to add a little sheen and different light to the piece. The top had a thick, dark layer of lacquer that was stripped off using Citristrip and then sanded back to its gorgeous grain. I used Minwax pre-stain conditioner and their stain in Early American to give it a totally new life and look. The color of the stained top complements the warm white. It also ties in with both the drawer pulls and the distressed wood that peeks out.I fell in love with these pulls. Just gorgeous.Let’s not forget the mirror. It is full of curves that play off the curvy dresser. It also is large and in perfect condition to give off great light and reflection in a room.A beautiful, vintage set for a young, modern home! ♥

Gorgeous! Not only is it a Drexel, but it looks like it is from their Touraine collection. Did you happen to notice “Touraine” stamped on the back of the dresser? Love the white with refinished top! Lucky little lady to have this in her room!
Suzanne
Hi Robin, No, it does not have it on the back. It has an old stamp inside that actually only says “Drexel” without the Heritage attached…

You out did yourself Suzanne-Love it! You photographed the mirror so well too! LOL! The wood top looks great with the white.

Beautiful work as usual, Suzanne! Question: did you seal the drawers and body?
Suzanne
Hi Beth, yes, I did. I used Annie Sloan clear wax on the whole piece. Thanks!
