Friday Update
The Bad:
Yesterday, it poured with rain and the garage flooded. Yes, the garage with all of my furniture in it. I quickly realized the gutters were the problem. There really is nothing as exciting as cleaning out the gutters in the pouring rain. My kids held onto the ladder while I perilously climbed it in my flip flops and grabbed as much goop out as I could. What joy! I was soaked but after we swept out the floor, the furniture was all ok and the problem solved.
Budget Rental called to say they actually don’t have a truck for me today. Even though I went online at the beginning of the week and reserved one. Well, thanks Budget Rental, for waiting until the day prior to my pickup to give me the bad news. I scrambled and found one not too far away and hope it’s there when I go to pick it up. You have no idea how annoying it is to speak to the Budget Car Customer Service line and have a conversation with a man whose accent is so strong it is like trying to understand Pig Latin.
It is supposed to rain cats and dogs this morning. 100% chance of rain. The Washington Post quotes, “A Wall of Water” and torrential rains. Such fun to put up a tent and fill it with furniture in the midst of a wall of water.
We had nasty frozen pizza for dinner.
The Good:
My house will soon be empty and will not feel like an episode of Hoarders: Buried Alive. BTW, I used to love that show – what happened? My 600-lb Life, although not bad, just isn’t the same.
It is supposed to be sunny over the weekend.
I am almost done with my projects.
My parents spent all week tagging it all and entering it in my book. That, my friends, is a huge help!
All of the “smalls” are packed and ready to go.
And, best of all…my glass shelves fit!!! Whew!
The Ugly:
I have this awful image in my head of me in “The Field of Gold” (all fields are named at Lucketts), all alone surrounded with my furniture on Sunday night. Oh, Lord.
