I found this little wardrobe a few months ago and just knew that with a little vision and paint it could be transformed. Here is the before and in progress. After a few coats of Annie Sloan French Linen and hand painted gold details, the vintage wardrobe is finished!
It was sanded back to smoothness and waxed in Annie Sloan clear wax for that gorgeous, hand rubbed finish. The gold details add a little pop against the grey.
The interior was stained in General Finishes java gel stain. This brought out the richness of the old wood while also giving it a cleaned up finish. The interior has both a small metal rod on the right as well as a wooden rod on the left for clothing.
I staged it for a little girl’s room using my daughter’s clothing that I have kept safe upstairs in a little drawer. Just a few special pieces! The wardrobe can actually go in any room of the house. It would be great for storing linens or towels as well and I love the vintage wheels on its feet. Now for sale on Etsy!

THIS is just beautiful! As are all your pieces……but this one really caught my eye. May I ask what paint you used for the gold details? I love the subtle ness of it

Hi Cathy, thanks so much! The paint is antique gold by Martha Stewart. I bought it at Home Depot and love it!
