This sweet little vintage wardrobe is the real deal. It is very old and was definitely not originally created to accommodate a tv! It has rods installed inside to hang clothes and ample space for storage. The original wheels on its feet give it that extra vintage touch. I can see it in a small child’s room with their little clothing hanging sweetly. I was thrilled to find a piece that is a little different than the standard dressers I have been working on lately. This one should be fun!
I am trying something new with this piece because I am not sure who will want it and for what purpose. I am listing it “as-is” for a custom paint/refinish job. If someone sees it and decides it is perfect for their nursery, entryway, family room, etc., they can let me know how they wish it to be finished. If it doesn’t work I will use my imagination and, like I said, have some fun 🙂
A few things to share – The Painted Drawer Inspiration Link Party is up and running and I would love more entries! Also, I painted my family room last Friday. I’ll share pics tomorrow. It is totally out of the box for me – Benjamin Moore Passion Fruit – a true pop of color for a typically quite subdued gal!

Can’t wait to see what you’ll do with it. Whatever you do, it’ll be magic. I am hoping you ‘re the one with the Rice Poster bed that’s going to be painted, too. If not, I think I’m going to BLINK you here, like I Dream of Jeannie, and have you paint mine!

I did one very similar to that – you can see it here http://1vintagepeacock.com/war-drobe-what-is-it-good-for/ .
It sold in less than 2 weeks – go for it!

You find the coolest furniture. I can’t wait to see the end result.

Hello, Suzanne,
I am a new “follower” of The Painted Drawer and look forward to reading it on an almost daily basis. I have been refinishing stained furniture for over 30 years, but began chalk painting things the past 2 years. Your tutorials are great! I feel that bloggers like you have provided “online classes” for me and have helped me improve my painting skills significantly. I am affiliated with a furniture consignment store, do fix-up work for them and also sell my personal pieces there rather than online. I also teach chalk painting “101” there twice a month and it has become very popular. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello from upstate New York and let you know how much I enjoy your posts.

Oh that should be fun to paint! Can’t wait to see what you do with it!

I can see this piece with shelves inside and using it for quilts, blankets, linens, etc. Or, for the dining room filled with crystal goblets, table cloths, napkins, and candles…everything needed for special table settings. 🙂
