My friend, Christin asked if I would like her console table ( I’m getting known in my neck of the woods as she who will take what you no longer desire which is fantastic btw). Now, this table is not old. In fact, it was originally purchased at HomeGoods. However, I decided to take it because the piece is so charming with great details.
I wish I had taken the “before” pic but I painted it in the middle of Luckett’s chaos and didn’t get one. It was a pale yellow with stenciling on the drawer and sides. I took the HomeGoods, kind of country looking table and gave it some character. I first applied a coat of General Finishes Persian Blue directly over the original yellow finish. I then added a coat of Annie Sloan chalk paint in the color Coco. After distressing back, it has texture and different colors peek through. The detailing really shows with the paint and distressing. I also changed the drawer pull to give it some sparkle. HomeGoods happy!

Looking good! When a piece has good lines it doesn’t matter if its old.

I love your color choices! But going from Drexel to Homegoods?? Aw, just kidding! I agree with Darrielle…if it’s in good shape along with some lovely details, why not? I have a Bombay Co. in inventory, awaiting some love …shhh…don’t tell! 🙂

It does have lots of character, even if it’s brand new! And I love the blue color showing through!
