On this set, I sanded the Coastal Blue back to create an almost denim look. As you see, it pairs very well with brass or gold hardware. Here I am last year at Lucketts painting this great vintage Hepplewhite dresser. Coastal Blue transformed it and gave it a nautical look.
Paired with dark wood, it soars! Today’s great score was a MCM bedside table to put into my son’s room. It will complete his “new” bedroom set! Time to break out the Coastal Blue 🙂

Suzanne, all of these are gorgeous! I use ASCP Aubusson blue ALOT and really should try this GF color, it’s a beautiful shade. I love all of these pieces but especially the top two where you sanded the color back. Very, very pretty!!
I love how the different variations of blue come through, and it really does look like denim. Great work Suzanne.

The Hepplewhite you painted last year was what made me decide to paint my Grandmother’s dining room set. Why didn’t I just buy the General Finishes paint?? Instead, I mixed Napoleonic Blue and Graphite from Annie Sloan’s chalk Paint and added a dark wax. I love the color, but when I need something else painted a gorgeous navy, I’ll be using the Coastal Blue. Thanks for painting that at just the right time to help me make my decision!
I just adore your style. The boy’s dresser is fantastic! Can’t wait to see the nightstand.
I never would have guessed that MCM dresser was Coastal Blue. It looks dark gray when paired with the wood.
Such a great color. It really does look like denim! Love the brunette hair, too, by the way 🙂
What a gorgeous, rich color!
A beautiful colour – especially paired with blue
